Update on Reviews
•
Flight Hardware Handling Plan
– Recommendations from Review on Friday (April 14, 2006)
– verify that 1x4 grid has been load tested with dummy loads before we
proceed with hardware integration
» including rotations and additional loads due to transportation)
– avoid usage of water as coolant
– provide control and monitor temperatures and relative humidity
» avoid condensation
– using dray air bottles instead of Nitrogen for transportation from Pisa to
CERN.
– Have one general Healthy & Safety responsible for all operations.
– Ship the assembled unit back to SLAC instead of separate items.
– Outcome
– Praise to Italian Collaborators (Luca et al) for preparing the review
– We were authorized to ship flight hardware spares to Italy
– Upcoming Reviews by the end of the month
– MGSE
– CU procedure for integration (LAT-PS-8132)

CAL Comprehensive Performance Tests @ SLAC
•
Eduardo asked Luca, Johan and
David to look at the data in detail
– 10 min muon run had wrong
thresholds
– but FLE trigger works

EGSE Description (from Ric)
May change after feedback from CERN (via Pasquale)
•
CISCO switch and shelves
– standard 19 inch rack
•
3 computers
• 2 Dell 1850 with a KVM switch
•
Uninterrupted Power Supplies
– back-up and filtering
•
Need feedback to start procurement !!!
– CERN requirements on
– firewall, switches, IP addresses
» current baseline NO firewall
– Pasquale is in contact with CERN
–
UPS requirements
• filtering and power back-up
– Gary is investigating that at SLAC
–
Control Room Requirements
• Cable lengths, space in the control
room, space in rack , are shelves
needed?
