LOYOLA SEMESTER IN WASHINGTON, DC LIVE, STUDY, AND INTERN IN OUR NATION’S CAPITAL! Loyola’s new “Semester in Washington, DC Program” enables students to Gain valuable professional experience and earn course credit while serving four days a week as a student intern in a host office in Washington, DC. Enroll as a full-time student in classes taught by Loyola faculty. Experience life for an entire semester in the unique setting that is our nation’s capital: Washington, DC. Eligibility: Open to undergraduate students with at least junior standing in all of Loyola University Chicago’s undergraduate programs. Program Operation: Fall semesters, beginning with the fall 2016 semester. Internship Placements: Numerous internship opportunities await the motivated student, ranging from placements in government (e.g., congressional and federal) offices and non-profit organizations and think tanks, to more internationally oriented placements, such as with international organizations. Curriculum: Students maintain full-time status (enrollment in 12 credit hours or more). Students receive 6 credit hours for the internship practicum (4 day-a-week, on-site work commitment, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm), 3 credit hours for the internship seminar (Friday, 9:00-11:30 am), and up to two additional courses (total of 6 credit hours) taught during the evening (7:00-9:30 pm, either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). Cost: Regular LUC semester tuition + $1,000 program fee + $4,540 (approximate) housing fee (students will be housed and take Loyola classes at the Washington Intern Student Housing).
