Description
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business or logistics. Five (5) years related experience material
management or warehousing and distribution operations or logistics operations including three
(3) years in an airline materials environment. Knowledge of logistical support requirements of
domestic and international cargo aircraft operations as they relate to materials. Knowledge of
dot, FAA, IATA and other regulatory requirements as applicable to all warehousing and
distribution operations. Knowledge of data processing methods and accounting principles as they
relate to material management. Good planning and analytical skills. Ability to work variable
shifts. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills.
Selects, trains and develops a subordinate staff of exempt, non-exempt and hourly employees.
Administers an annual operating budget of approximately $6.0mm.
Provides detailed guidance to subordinate staff in the accomplishment of operational procedures
required for compliance with stated policy guidelines, and in matters of safety, security, and
dispatch reliability in accordance with FAA, dot, and IATA regulations, including federal, state
and local requirements.
Monitors, reports and initiates corrective actions to ensure actual performance meets or exceeds
planned objectives specified in the departmental tactical plan.
Establishes and maintains detailed working knowledge of all business systems, policies and
procedures, and regulatory constraints applicable to the operation of airline technical stores
warehouse functions.
Assists in the development and implementation of procedural guidelines required to accomplish
organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
Develops and maintains staff work schedules to ensure adequate material support for all
purchasing and supply customers.
Ensures accurate records are maintained for all inventories and for all warehouse-related
activities.
Establishes space requirements to satisfy material needs, manages assets in a manner that
balances operational effectiveness with cost efficiency.
Identifies data systems requirements to support on-going and future operation of warehousing
and distribution.
Coordinates with engineering and quality control to ensure all materials required to perform
FedEx aircraft/equipment modifications are provided.
