Airline Safety Manager - Safety Management Systems - Corporate Safety Department As we strive for our vision of Cathay Pacific (CX) as the world's most admired airline, our principal focus is always on safety, both in the air and on the ground. As part of our Corporate Safety Department, your objective will be to support our corporate safety culture through the application of proactive and reactive safety practices and procedures. We are therefore looking for an extremely high calibre individual to fill this important position. Key Responsibilities: • Continuous development and enhancement of the CX Safety Management System (SMS) • Analyse all safety data and provide detailed statistical and graphical data on airline safety areas of greatest risk to the company • Provide specialist Human Factors input during investigations to CSD and other CX departments as required • Provide fatigue analysis for new patterns/rosters, and for investigation of fatigue-related safety reports as part of the FRMS • Develop and enhance CSD Operational Risk Management programs • Provide proactive suggestions and instigate safety enhancement programs to mitigate areas of greatest risk to the CX operation • Conduct proactive analysis of other operator's incident reports and make recommendations to ensure that CX has appropriate defences and systems in place to avoid similar events • Develop, facilitate and deliver safety training programs and education on the SMS and just culture through various means • Produce the CSD safety publications 'Kai Talk' and 'Kai Talk Cabin' on a regular basis • Promote safety awareness throughout the airline in Hong Kong and outports • Member and Secretary to the Airline Safety Review Committee (ASRC), producing both Agenda and Minutes on a monthly basis Requirements: • Degree holder or equivalent qualification (flying licence) in an aviation discipline, with substantial relevant recent experience in an airline environment. Masters degree preferable • At least 12 years relevant experience in an aviation safety related discipline with experience in managing an SMS • Sound knowledge of Human Factors including a good understanding of fatigue management concepts • Excellent inter-personal, communications and supervising skill with an ability to liaise effectively at all levels of the organization • Ability to present and teach safety concepts as required • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
