Standard Operating Procedures for the -80C Freezer
Ventilation and personal protective equipment requirements:

 Fume cupboard
 Biosafety cabinet
 Cytotoxic cabinet
 General ventilation
    






Gloves (if appropriate)
Safety glasses
Full face shield
Laboratory coat/gown
Equipment involved:

Upright -80C freezer.
Procedures:


Opening and handling items being stored at -80C.
Exposure to hazardous substances.
Safety precautions:



Be aware of any potential hazardous substances that may be stored in
the freezer. CONSULT Chemical Register.
Wear personal protective clothing to avoid exposure to hazardous
chemicals, frost burn to skin and eyes.
Be sure to lock shut the door after opening.
