Dear Curtis:
It is my good fortune to officially inform you that I have selected you to receive the
Research Award for the College of Agriculture and Home Economics this year. Your
research accomplishments and positive attitudes are known throughout New Mexico and
the western states and we are pleased that this award can serve as tangible evidence of
your achievements.
The award ceremony is scheduled to begin with music at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 26,
2002, in the auditorium of Gerald Thomas Hall. I hope you and your guests can join me, the
other award recipients, and the audience for a light buffet in the patio area of Skeen Hall
following the ceremonies.
It is my policy to keep the names of all award winners more or less "secret" until the time
of the awards ceremony in order to build suspense and interest. Typically, the suspense
of the moment results in a standing-room-only audience in the Agricultural Auditorium.
Again, congratulations for your many contributions to New Mexico State University and
the welfare of the citizens of New Mexico.
