IMovie Da Foe 2 Resources: Www.History.com Socrative http://www.ted.com/coldwar cold war for IPADS Unit Outline: Day 1) I will first use the smart board to introduce the lesson about the cold war, have a map of the world and highlight the two major players in the war United States and what was known as USSR. Then have students take a prequel on the cold war on Socrative to see how familiar they are with the war and where I need to help them in certain areas and topics of the war. Then I will show them a video of the Nuclear bomb threat video where it show how student s during the time of the cold war drilling on what to do when a nuclear attack was imminent. So the kids get an understanding of the times during the cold war, And maybe even act it out as the video portrays. Then have a class discussion on what they learn and feel about the cold war. Day2) Today lesson take a look at History.com they have a bunch of different videos on the cold war break students into groups have them pick a video take notes, and after each group is done with their videos they will present as a group to the class while the other student stake notes on what they learned through he presentation. Then I will use Socrative again but with more Labyrinth question Da Foe 3 that evaluate the students understanding of the cold war see where the need help the most then go over it again the last part of class with a class discussion. Day 3) today I’m going to give A PowerPoint presentation to review for the students and they will take notes, then we will use IPADS and use a cold war application that’s a interactive map of the world and where you click on the bubbles on the map it tells you what happened here and when it happened, and how it impact society. Day 4) this day will be test day, I will use Socrative at first to see if the student s are understanding the material, then they will Word to write a essay on why the cold war happen, and some of its impacts. Day 5) review and discussion day, will discuss as a class what would happen if the cold war continued, we will use iMovie to make a cold war videos any type educational of movie production videos, overall goal is the students will use the correct information in there videos and that they use creativity. Then will watch a Ted talk video on the cold war about military strategies post cold war and have a class discussion on how US can learn from the Cold war.
