School Committee Policy
GRANTS AND GIFTS FROM PRIVATE SOURCES
The School Committee shall encourage the development of proposals to private foundations
and other sources of financial aid for subsidizing such activities as innovative projects,
feasibility studies, long-range planning and research and development. All activities should be
based on a set of objectives that can be evaluated. The School Committee shall comply with
Chapter 71, Section 37A, which indicates that any grants or gifts for educational purposes
from charitable foundations and private corporations received by a School Committee shall be
deposited with the treasurer and held as a separate account, and expended by the School
Committee without further appropriation.
