ABSTRACT Neem leaf aqueous extract sprays were evaluated alongside Cypermetrin for their efficacy to ameliorate the symptoms and other pathogenic responses of infected Cowpea plants which were mechanically inoculated with Cucumber mosaic virus. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block pattern with two treatments: the different rates of application of the sprays and the number of time of application. The treatments were replicated three times giving a total of 36pots with each pot having at least two plants. Plants sprayed with water served as control. The result of the experiment showed that neem leaf aqueous extract spray was found effective in the reduction of the associated symptoms and indeed an application of four times was found comparable with inorganic cypermethrin in terms of reduced infection symptoms and yields.
