Identify clinical faculty development needs, as evidenced by content analysis of student evaluations of clinical instructors. Identify needs at the level of the clinical sites for planning and orientation, as evidenced by content analysis of student evaluations of clinical instructors. The survey results for 44 clinical instructors were evaluated. Results indicated that the usefulness of small group meetings with clinical instructors should be reevaluated, and other options considered. Linkage to Other Plans DTL DTL Year-End Status and Accomplishments Clinical forms have been updated. The clinical education manual was updated. Further enhancement is needed. This process was initiated in 2004 and is in progress. This item needs continued follow-up. DTL, DSS DTL, DED DTL Student evaluations indicate that orientation procedures at the clinical facilities may need to be improved. This item needs follow-up. Individual visits to clinical sites, rather than a group meeting, was conducted this year. Other Accomplishments: Students participated in a special collaborative learning project this semester, which involved four sessions of case-based learning. Students from the first and second year of the program worked in small groups using either discussion or concept mapping to develop answers to questions related to clinical cases. Student performance on a pre- and posttest of case-based learning is currently being assessed.
