Year-End Status and Accomplishments
Blackboard was not added to OTA 100 (formerly 50),
but was added to OTA 120. This was felt to be a
better fit, as this is one of the first classes that
students take upon enrolling in the OTA program.
Students were introduced to Blackboard in this class
and as they continue in the program they will be
required to utilize it more.
Two sections of OTA 100 students were surveyed on
their preference for an evening program, block day
program, or weekend program. Survey results
showed that the majority of students preferred the
evening format. In discussions with adjunct faculty,
they also indicated a preference for the evening
format. Most of the adjunct faculty have clinical jobs
during the day, and would not be able to continue
teaching if the program went to a weekday block
format. Will continue to explore options for program
delivery during the coming year.
Program coordinator attended the state OT
conference in November 2003. Program also hosted
a California Fieldwork Council meeting.
Deferred to AY 2004-2005.
New recliner wheelchair purchase made in
conjunction with PTA program. Furniture and
equipment have been checked. There is a need for
repair or replacement of 4 chairs in Mohr Hall, Room
21. Defer this to AY 2004-2005.
Office space has been provided in Mohr Hall, room

Justification
This is our standard allotment for instructional supplies.
Student recruitment and increasing program enrollment In the program
continues to be a high priority. Therefore, marketing efforts are ongoing.
Materials that have a professional presentation and attract the attention of
potential students need to be available.
The national OT conference will be held in southern California for the first
time in 25 years. Many faculty have never been to a national conference. It
would be very valuable for all faculty to have the opportunity to go to the
conference and to experience the caliber of presentations that will be made.
This conference is an excellent place for networking and updating
professional knowledge.
As furniture and laboratory equipment ages it is breaking down or becoming
obsolete in the field. Students need to have access to safe furniture and
current equipment.
The current database system is on a division office computer and not easily
accessible by fieldwork coordinator. It is several years old and updated
versions of the same software are available. The company is charging now
for upgrades and software support. New software programs that are now
available will also be considered as an alternative. Fieldwork database
software is critical for maintaining site information (including contract
renewals) and scheduling of student fieldwork placements.
