SENIOR PROJECT
JOB SHADOW/INTERVIEW OVERVIEW
English 12CP and AP
Part one. The INTERVIEW.
Create/find 10 interview questions pertain to the CAREER you are investigating.
Contact your person to arrange some time (30-45 minutes) to sit down and answer your
questions.
The questions must be worded to help create complete and informative answers.
Therefore, please only write OPEN-ENDED questions: in other words, a “yes” or “no”
answer is not enough. Your question must require at least a full sentence answer to
receive credit.
Using MLA format, type up your 10 questions, and also record the answer given.
While you answers do not have to be word for word, they should include all important
information given in answer to the question. Each of your answers should be a
minimum of 25-50 words.
Part two. The JOB SHADOW.
After you have job-shadowed your person for 4-6 hours, please write up, in MLA
format, a 400-500 word summary of what happened during the job shadow. Here are
some prompts to use if needed:
 What duties did your person perform on their job?
 How much responsibility does this job entail?
 What is a typical day for your person on the job?
 What reaction did you have when you watched them? Does the job seem
interesting to you? Explain.
Consider your writing as a SUMMARY (not an essay). You may use personal pronouns if
needed.
Attached is a form which needs to be signed by the person you job shadow and
interview to confirm their participation. This signed form, along with the assignment
above, is DUE ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 8th, 2016.
See your teacher for POINT VALUES for the assignment.
