Funding Opportunities
Multidisciplinary Approaches for Developmental Research with
Individuals with Disorders of Sexual Development
National Institute of Health (NIH); This funding opportunity announcement
(FOA) invites grant applications from institutions/organizations proposing
research with individuals with disorders of sex development (DSD) and their
families in one of four major areas: 1) improving the diagnosis of DSD; 2)
genitosurgery/gender assignment outcomes; 3) psychosocial and functional
impacts on development of individuals with DSD; and 4) improving clinical
management of DSD. The objective of this FOA is to develop a scientific basis
for maximizing developmental outcomes for the relatively rare conditions of
DSD and to create a consortium of researchers for collaboration and data
sharing. Proposals are due December 9, 2015. For more information, visit

Aging Research on Stress and Resilience to Address Health Disparities
in the USA
National Institute of Health (NIH); The purpose of this Funding Opportunity
Announcement (FOA) is to stimulate interdisciplinary health-disparities
research related to aging that considers the role that stress, stress response,
and stress resilience play in differential health outcomes in priority health
disparity populations in the U.S. In particular, this FOA seeks applications
proposing to clarify pathways linking stress and aging-relevant health
outcomes (e.g. mortality, cognitive impairment, multiple chronic conditions,
disability, quality of life) through the investigation of links between
environmental, sociocultural, behavioral, and biological factors. Proposals are
due December 13, 2015. For more information, visit Grants.gov
Abuse Liability Associated with Reduced Nicotine Content Tobacco
Products
National Institute of Health (NIH); The purpose of this Funding Opportunity

the United States. Nicotine is the primary constituent responsible for the
addictiveness of cigarettes, resulting in smokers’ inability to quit and continued
use. Research addressing nicotine and combusted tobacco product use
behaviors (e.g., reinforcing effects, compensation, and amount used) and the
dose-effects of nicotine will inform FDA regarding its tobacco regulatory
authorities. Research projects must address the research priorities related to
the regulatory authority of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for
Tobacco Products (CTP) as mandated by the Family Smoking Prevention and
Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA), Public Law 111-31. The awards under this
FOA will be administered by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) using
designated funds from the FDA CTP for tobacco regulatory science. Proposals
are due October 30, 2015. For more information, visit Grants.gov

National Science Foundation (NSF); The Interdisciplinary Behavioral and
Social Science Research (IBSS) competition promotes the conduct of
interdisciplinary research by teams of investigators in the social and behavioral
sciences. Emphasis is placed on support for research that involves researchers
from multiple SBE disciplinary fields and that integrates scientific theoretical
approaches and methodologies from multiple SBE disciplinary fields. Emphasis
also is placed on the significance of expected intellectual contributions that are
likely to yield generalizable insights and information that will enhance
theoretical perspectives and advance basic knowledge and capabilities across
multiple SBE disciplinary fields. Although the IBSS competition will consider
any proposal that addresses a topic for which the proposal makes a compelling
case that the research will enhance broader theoretical understanding across
multiple social and behavioral science fields, social and behavioral science
researchers are especially encouraged to submit proposals for research on
one of the following three broadly defined topics: Population Change; Sources
and Consequences of Disparities; and Technology, New Media, and Social
Networks. Proposals are due December 1, 2015. For more information, visit

Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS); Sparks Grants are a
special funding opportunity within the IMLS National Leadership Grants for
Museums program. These small grants encourage museums to prototype and
evaluate specific innovations in the ways they operate and the services they
provide resulting in new tools, products, services, or organizational practices.
Applicants may propose activities or approaches that involve risk, as long as
the project results - be they success, failure, or a combination thereof - offer
valuable information to the museum field and the potential for improvement in
the ways museums serve their communities. Proposals are due December 1,
2015. For more information, visit imls.gov
Museums for America
Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS); The Museums for
America (MFA) program supports projects that strengthen the ability of an
individual museum to serve its public. MFA has three project categories:
Learning experiences, community anchors, and collections stewardship.
Proposals are due December 1, 2015. For more information, visit imls.gov
Art Works
National Endowment of the Arts (NEH); The NEA's Office of Research &
Analysis will make awards to support research that investigates the value
and/or impact of the arts, either as individual components within the U.S. arts
ecology or as they interact with each other and/or with other domains of
American life. Proposals are due October 20, 2015. For more information, visit
