Media Projects Grants
National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH); Media Projects Grants
support film, television, and radio projects for general audiences that encourage
active engagement with humanities ideas in creative and appealing ways. All
projects must be grounded in humanities scholarship in disciplines such as
history, art history, film studies, literature, drama, religious studies, philosophy,
or anthropology. Projects must also demonstrate an approach that is thoughtful,
balanced, and analytical (rather than celebratory). Proposals are due January 13,
2016. For more information, visit Grants.gov
Institutes for Historical Editing
National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); The National
Historical Publications and Records Commission seeks proposals to improve the
training and education of historical documentary editors. The goal of the
program is to both provide technical training in necessary skills and inspire
documentary editors to think about how they can contribute to the advancement
of the field in the 21st century. The Institutes for Historical Editing should
consist of both basic and advanced Institutes. Proposals are due February 11,
2016. For more information, visit Grants.gov

The Big Read
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA); This Funding Opportunity
Announcement (FOA) supports the revitalization of the importance of literature
in U.S. popular culture. Applications must come from university libraries for
grants ranging from $2,500 to $20,000. Partnerships with community
organizations encouraged. A one to one match is required with nonfederal
funds. Approximately 75 organizations in communities of varying sizes across
the country will be selected for awards. Proposals are due by January 27, 2016.

National Centers on Health Promotion for People with Disabilities
Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); National Center on Birth
Defect and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD); The purpose of Funding
Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to fund and support state controlled
institutions of higher education, non-government organizations and private
colleges and universities that work with people with mobility limitations and/or
intellectual disabilities (ID) and have national reach through a network of 15 or
more state/local programs, chapters and/or affiliates across the United States.

Probability
National Science Foundation (NSF); Division of Mathematical Sciences
(DMS); The Probability Program supports research on the theory and
applications of probability. Subfields include discrete probability, stochastic
processes, limit theory, interacting particle systems, stochastic differential and
partial differential equations, and Markov processes. Research in probability
which involves applications to other areas of science and engineering is
especially encouraged. Conferences Principal Investigators should carefully read
the program solicitation "Conferences and Workshops in the Mathematical
Sciences" (link below) to obtain important information regarding the substance
of proposals for conferences, workshops, summer/winter schools, and similar
activities. Conference and workshop proposals should be submitted eight
months before the requested start date. Proposals are due November 7, 2016. For
more information, visit NSF.gov
Statistics
National Science Foundation (NSF); Division of Mathematical Sciences
(DMS); The Statistics Program supports research in statistical theory and
methods, including research in statistical methods for applications to any
domain of science and engineering. The theory forms the base for statistical
science. The methods are used for stochastic modeling, and the collection,
analysis and interpretation of data. The methods characterize uncertainty in the
data and facilitate advancement in science and engineering. The Program
encourages proposals ranging from single-investigator projects to
interdisciplinary team projects. Proposals are due November 7, 2016. For more
information, visit NSF.gov
Large Research Projects for Prevention and Management of HealthcareAssociated Infections
Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); Agency for Health Care
Research and Quality (AHRQ); This FOA issued by AHRQ solicits grant
applications for funding to conduct Large Research Projects (R01) that propose
to advance the base of knowledge for detection, prevention, reduction, and
effective management of HAIs. The FOA describes the broad areas of HAI
research for which funds are available to support Large Research Projects.
Mechanism of Support. This FOA will use the AHRQ Research Project Grant
(R01) award mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards.
Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from
application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each
award will also vary. The total amount awarded and the number of awards will
depend upon the number, quality, duration, and costs of the applications
received. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of
funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
Proposals are due November 5, 2016. For more information, visit Grants.nih.gov
Topology
National Science Foundation (NSF); Division of Mathematical Sciences
(DMS); This FOA supports research on algebraic topology, including homotopy
theory, ordinary and extraordinary homology and cohomology, cobordism
theory, and K-theory; topological manifolds and cell complexes, fiberings, knots,
and links; differential topology and actions of groups of transformations;
geometric group theory; and general topology and continua theory. Conferences
Principal Investigators should carefully read the program solicitation
"Conferences and Workshops in the Mathematical Sciences" (link below) to
obtain important information regarding the substance of proposals for
conferences, workshops, summer/winter schools, and similar activities.
Conference and workshop proposals should be submitted eight months before
the requested start date. Proposals are due November 1, 2016. For more
