Cosumnes River College Cultural Competence and Equity Committee Request for Funding Background: The CC and E Committee provides monies for projects not funded through the normal budget cycle. Funding for this project comes from revenues generated by the College’s annual used book sale. The grants are intended to provide an opportunity for support of special projects designed to enhance cultural competence, broaden our understanding of diversity to include all diversities represented at the college, enhance the cultural event process, and promote equitable outcomes for students. Eligibility: All Cosumnes River College faculty, staff and management are eligible to apply for CC and E support during the open application period. Areas of Interest: The Committee will give priority to proposals that enhance campus climate and/or advance student equity. Ideal proposals should relate directly to the College-wide desired outcomes which include: Student Success, Access, Teaching and Learning Effectiveness, Community and Economic Development, and Organizational Effectiveness. Award Amounts:* The maximum funding level for a regular mini-grant approved proposal is $1,000. However, the number of awards and amount available depends upon annual book sale revenues. Mini-grant funds are not to be used for ongoing program support or for off-campus professional development for individuals. Grants are not meant to supplant dollars already in a departmental budget. Applications should clearly demonstrate any/all additional resources that will be used to meet project costs. Application Process: Proposals must include a completed CCE Mini-Grant Application Form (attached).
