What file extensions are most common to bitmap images? Name at least 3.
PNG, JPEG and GIF.
Are bitmap images easier to work on than vector? Why or Why not?
Bitmap images are easier to work with in regards to photographs, while vectors are probably better for
logos or illustrated designs. Vectors have a smaller file size but are more complex in their design. With
bitmaps what you see is what you get.
Why are bitmap images more common in everyday usage? Include its advantages in your answer.
Bitmap images are more common because they’re simpler to work with. A vector is nothing more than a
bunch of shapes, points and lines that when combined can form complex images. A vector image is
probably a little bit more hands on and requires special attention or an eye for detail; it requires much
more manipulation. It’s a creation to a certain extent. A bitmap is simply an image composed of pixels
with its own colors and shapes already defined from either digital cameras or scanned photographs.
