Current student of Dr. Rowan’s ITEC 4110. Currently working on a Gimp Portfolio doing glamour quality bitmap photo editing. ITEC 4110 Advanced Digital Media currently taught only by Dr. Rowan. Specializes in service to 2110 & creating advanced projects using 2110 used software. 4 credit hour class, recommended for IT majors. Vector- Elegant way of constructing digital images whose representations is compact, scalable, and easier to edit. Are attractive to networked multimedia . Based upon shapes and can be described mathematically . ▪ Ex. Marketing, using the same image but on different products such as T-shirts, coffee mugs, posters, billboards. Bitmap- Inkscape- vector based program used for SVG files. SVG- stands for Scalable vector graphics Gimp- Bitmap based program used for non SVG files such as jpeg, bmp, tiff, and gif. Ability to animate still images. Edit using multiple layers. Similar features to that of Adobe Photoshop. It’s FREE! Purpose- To expose yourself to the ease and convenience of SVG files compared to JPEG files. Outcome- To create a digital signature to include in your Gimp Project. Purpose- To expose yourself to the difficulties of editing bitmap images and experiencing photo editing. Outcome- To create a unique image of your choice following a variety of methods such as blurring, color modifications, color-level alterations and opacity changes. Vector Project Bitmap Project
