That approval be given to Salford City Council acting as Andrew Pringle
the project managing, procurement and accounting body
for a partnership project to deliver a long term and viable
sustainable solution to the aeration/water quality matters
in the ship canal, and the Strategic Director for
Customer & Support Services be requested to prepare
and complete, the necessary legal documentation.

That the Greater Manchester Joint Waste Development
Plan document be noted and referred to the City Council
with a recommendation that, they endorse it and
approve it’s submission to the Secretary of State.

That approval be given to the proposal to implement an
area wide traffic calming scheme and associated street
screening within the Ordsall estate

That approval be given to the sketch proposals
for Guy Fawkes Street/Warburton Street
Walkable Streets Programme, together with the
expenditure of £444,676 on the Central Salford
Urban Regeneration Company Business
Investment Plan 2010/11 to implement them

That support the expenditure of £1,776 per year
from the City’s corporate provision for the future
maintenance of future capital schemes to fund
the increase maintenance costs, be approved.

That Urban Vision be authorised to enter into
negotiations with Salford City Council’s
appropriate partner contractors to obtain a target
cost for constructing the works of site
(In agreeing this item Councillor Derek Antrobus
requested that press releases be prepared both
these works and those for the Ordsall Estate (see
minute 4) highlighting the greening issues
initiatives involved).

Bridgewater Canal Master
Plan consultation update
That the results of the consultation and proposed
changes to the Bridgewater Canal Corridor and master
plan be noted; and progress on finalising it and the
timetable for it’s adoption be endorsed.
7.
Road Safety Briefing
Councillor Derek Antrobus said there was a need for him Mike Relph
to be provided with regular road safety briefings

particularly prior to meetings of the City Council, and
requested that, such an item be placed on appropriate
Lead Member briefings.
