ISSUES FOR PVP REVIEW AGENDA ITEM 1. INTRODUCTION The Police Authority changed the method of consultation from PCCG’s to PVP’s in April 2001; It was considered that the consultation process engaged in which brought about the changes could have been better; There is likely to be a diverse view amongst Members of the City Council as to the best means of managing Police/Community Consultation with some Members likely to support the role incorporated into the Council’s Community Strategy; 2. POINTS FOR INFORMATION 12 month review of PVP by Police Authority being considered during April 2002; Questionnaire being distributed to all Councillors during March 2002; Consultation with Crime and Disorder Partnerships during March 2002; What are the views of Salford Councillors Eccles Pilot operational policing issues on Community Committee Agenda; How can Salford influence the way forward; Does the Community Engagement Best Value Review have a role; What impact does the Best Value Review of Crime and Disorder have on this issue in so much as arrangements should be in place for local political executives to meet with local police sector teams; Are the Police Authority establishing or have established objective measures as to the effectiveness of the consultation process;
