BACKGROUND DOCUMENTS : None (Available for public inspection) CONTACT OFFICER : Linda Sharples WARD(S) TO WHICH REPORT RELATE(S) : 1 SALFORD Members requested information regarding the number of mobile phones that were now issued for the authority in light of the recent criteria that was recommended by Quality and Performance Scrutiny committee to cabinet. The attached information shows numbers for all directors in respect of the number of mobile phones that they have issued. The current number of connections with Project Telecom are 1965 handsets up to the 1st June, 2003. Since then there have been 15 further connections Chief Execs Environmental Social Services Corporate Serv 2 2 10 1 There seems to be no apparent change in the trends of directorates with the number of new connections increasing at a steady rate. The graph attached illustrates that the cost of mobile phones has now increased from £30,000.00 in December, 2002 to £37,051.55 in June 2003 with the numbers increasing from 1501 in June 2002 to the current number of 1965 in June 2003. 2 SALFORD 3
