Power bag can charge phones
A student has invented a solar-powered handbag, left, that can charge mobile phones
and MP3 players.
The Power Purse, which will cost about £ 200 when it goes on sale in Britain, is covered
with dozens of solar panels that are connected to a battery. Inside is a socket by which
gadgets can be charged. Joe Hynek, 27, who designed the bag at Iowa State
University, said: "It should allow mobile phones to be charged without ever having to
plug them in at home."
