Directions for Misc O-scope lab
Set-up
1. Check out 1 scope probe, 1 function generator, and 1 RF cable
2. Set up to have a sine wave on your o-scope with a specific frequency and voltage. You choose both. (Make them
DIFFERENT from what I have below!)
3. Write your Name, the Vpp and the Freq you selected and write it on a piece of paper. For example:
4. Put a piece of tape on the backside at the bottom.
5. Tape to function generator so frequency is hidden with the words on the paper facing into the function
generator
6. Get out a sheet of paper and make 3 columns labeled: Name
7. You will need to use your calculator for this lab.

Set up your oscilloscope so the wave form is on the screen.
Then change ONE setting on the oscilloscope.
When the instructor says “rotate”, rotate to the next station
At this station you will need to figure out how to adjust the oscilloscope settings to get the waveform placed
properly on the o-scope.
After the waveform is on the screen, write down what the calculated Frequency is and the Vpp underneath the
Vpp and Frequency columns.
Compare your answers to those on the backside of the paper that the previous person wrote.
If you answers differ from that on the paper, figure out what is wrong.
Under the Name column, write down the person’s name of the station you are at.
After your answers match up with the station, change the settings on the oscilloscope in preparation for another
rotation.
