The Kidney Research Scientist Core Education and National Training (KRESCENT) Program
involves shared funding of the salary award between KRESCENT and the applicant’s institution
(50%:50%).
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY FOR A KRESCENT AWARD:
1. [applicant name] will participate in the KRESCENT Program core curriculum.
2. [applicant name] will spend at least 80% of time on research activities.
In addition to these 2 conditions, continued funding by the KRESCENT Program will depend on satisfactory
performance in the Program, based on an annual interview with the Trainee, and satisfactory presentation of
assignments as part of the KRESCENT core curriculum.
It is the responsibility of the Supervisor to inform the KRESCENT Program when the trainee is no
longer meeting these requirements. Failure to notify the KRESCENT Program of a situation that
renders the trainee ineligible to receive further funding will require reimbursement to the
KRESCENT Program of any funds paid to the applicant during the period of ineligibility.
