Admissions Counselor II Job Description TITLE: Admissions Counselor II JOB CODE: 3614 EFFECTIVE DATE: FLSA STATUS: E EEO6 CODE: 3 = Professional/Non-faculty PURPOSE: To provide advanced professional knowledge, advice and counseling skills regarding the institutional student admission and recruitment process. Responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate students, including activities that will generate prospects, applicants and enrollees. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for implementing all strategies of the admissions plan. Manages a geographical territory for the purpose of recruiting freshman, transfer enrollees and/or perspective students. Assists in the planning and implementing of all recruitment functions. Provides information to prospective students and parents on specific educational opportunities of the University, both on and off the campus. Counsels students and parents on admission requirements and financial aid processes. Answers questions of a complex nature regarding the University's admissions policies. Reviews applications for admission and counsels applicants regarding their eligibility status. Develops and nurtures relationships with influential contacts. Travels to conferences, high schools, colleges, and other learning institutions to publicize and explain admission requirements and procedures. Replies to phone calls, correspondence and e-mail from prospective students and their family members. Develops evaluation procedures. Performs data entry tasks. Prepares correspondence. Performs other duties as assigned. Assists with events, both on and off campus. Serves on various committees as assigned. Provides written updates of territorial numbers and procedural goals. Coordinates the work of Admissions Officer I positions. Interviews prospective personnel. Assists other areas/departments on campus with recruitment efforts. Represents the University at events/functions. Prepares written reports. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Limited supervision from supervisor. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: General supervision to clerical staff. REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in any business or related field. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Two years of experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters, with a broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Standard office equipment. Extreme accuracy in the maintenance of academic records. Usual office conditions. Occasional evening and weekend work necessary.
