Natural Resources Specialist I Purpose Purpose: Responsible for reviewing and evaluating Total Coliform Rule and Ground Water Rule data. Essential Functions Function 1: Responsible for reviewing plans, maps, geological data from drill logs and complete assessments on other aspects of well data. 20 % Time Function 2: Provides technical assistance to applicants, consulting engineers, attorneys, environmentalists, the general public, and other interested groups in the application of the Ground Water Rules and regulations to ensure understanding of the development, use, and/or opposition to the development of regulated facilities in the state; and regarding monitoring requirements. 20 % Time Function 3: Provides follow-up analysis on violation notices to ensure that regulated entities are currently meeting standards. 10 % Time Function 4: Reviews and/or researches rules, records, and files in order to disseminate information or data as requested by customers, and/or to prepare enforcement referrals. 10 % Time Function 5: Ensures data is captured correctly in the Water Utilities Database (WUD) and the Safe Drinking Water Distribution System (SDWIS), or other databases 15 % Time Function 6: Prepares appropriate documents meeting institutional standards to summarize the results. 10 % Time Function 7: Adheres to institutional paper and electronic file management requirements. Follows all applicable institutional standard operating procedures. Ensures that business procedures maintain compliance with all institutional rules or policies. 10 % Time Function 8: Attends training as appropriate to supplement familiarity with programmatic requirements as directed by Project Manager. 5 % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. 1 year of experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or related field.
