Interim Assistant Vice President
Purpose
Purpose:
Provides executive leadership for the Division for Enterprise Development.
Essential Functions
Function 1:
Leadership at the division/institutional level for strategic planning, budget planning
and academic collaboration related to interdivisional services and products.
15 % Time
Function 2:
Leadership in inclusive excellence, equal opportunity and affirmative action.
5 % Time
Function 3:
Leadership and system-wide advocacy for policies that support the development and
use of new and innovative educational technology.
5 % Time
Function 4:
Development of collaborative programs, relationships, and projects with external
organizations in Texas and beyond.
20 % Time
Function 5:
Leadership for strategic direction in areas such as program revenue, accountability
measures and new business development.
15 % Time
Function 6:
Lead administration and implementation of the grants, contracts, inter-agency
agreements between DED and other institutions/agencies.
15 % Time
Function 7:
Liaison responsibilities with selected federal, state and community agencies.
15 % Time
Function 8:
Development of external relationships in support of funding streams
10 % Time

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Academic and professional accomplishment sufficient to command the broad respect
of the academic community, and to provide educational leadership for Division
activities locally, nationally and internationally. Outstanding abilities in establishing
effective communication and relationships with a broad and diverse constituency,
including staff, students the public, government and various professional business
groups. Understanding of non-traditional higher education and the use of technology
in delivering effective programs. Demonstrated executive level management skills
(i.e. budgeting, financial planning and policy development) sufficient to provide
effective leadership.
