THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL (NON-TEACHING) JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Assistant Director, Loan Funds and Collections CODE: 0346 FUNCTION: Assist Director with Perkins and Nurse Faculty Loan Programs. Supervise employee. Approve DEFINE documents. Represent UTA at meetings with third party agencies. Monitor federal regulations in regard to loans. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise Perkins and Nurse Faculty Loan Programs. Verify reports and day-to-day actions on loan programs. Resolve issues between reps and borrowers. Set-up new loans and advances in system. Mediate between borrowers and billing services. Supervise 6 employees, assist director in day-to-day operations. Manage operations in absence of director. Monitor work progress and assign work duties. Prepare delinquency reports. Approve DEFINE documents. Maintain third party contracts. Lead semester fee audit process. Update website information. Compose semester delinquency letters. ACCOUNTABILITY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS REPORTS TO: Director, Business Services SUPERVISES: Number of employees supervised (non-students): 6 Number of students supervised: None INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS: Environmental demands Exposure to standard office conditions Physical tasks Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. 3 years experience in collections or business. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Business. 5 years experience in collections or Business. 5 years experience in a university setting.
