FUNCTION: Manage, direct and coordinate Undergraduate Student Services staff and
all activities including recruitment, student advisement, admission, progression, retention,
scholarships, and other activities related to undergraduate nursing students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement procedures and materials to support
Undergraduate Student Services. Direct the SON's undergraduate admissions process,
orientations, record keeping, data collections and storage, advisement, recruitment and
retention activities. Serve as a chair of Admission's Committee. Direct advisement for
prospective students and pre-nursing and nursing majors. Coordinate representation of
the School of Nursing at orientation, advising, and recruitment events within and outside
the University. Coordinate referral of SON students with special disabilities and/or other
special needs including academic, financial and personal. Publish student organization's
calendar each semester. Represent SON on University Committees as assigned.
Represent Undergraduate Student Services on SON Committees. Perform tasks as
assigned by the Associate Dean and Dean.

REPORTS TO: Associate Dean, Nursing
SUPERVISES:
INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a
system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department
operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department
financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws,
regulations, policies and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Environmental demands; Exposure to standard office
conditions; Physical tasks; Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation; Use of manual
dexterity; Climbing of stairs; Lifting and moving
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in Nursing required. Experience in
BSN education. Doctorate preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Specific job requirements or physical location of some
positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive, and
thereby subject to the provisions of Section §51.215 Texas Education Code.
