They contain several conversations on topics such as airport front desk, arrival, asking for directions. 本單和下單元都是在討論出國出差的事,本 單元包含幾個主題的對話例如到機場服務台 抵達詢問方向。 Joseph is going on a business trip to New York. He talks about it with his friend Dianne. Joseph將要出差到紐約。他和他朋友Dianne 談論著關於出差的事。 Joseph: Hello Dianne, how are you ? 哈囉Dianne,你好嗎? Dianne: Hey Joe, I’m fine, thank you. What have you been up to? We haven’t Spoken for so long! 嘿Joseph,我很好,謝謝。 妳最近 一直在忙什麼? 我們有一段時間沒聊天了! Joseph: Yeah, I know. I’ve been really busy lately. I am going on a business trip to New York in two weeks. Is there something you want me to bring you back from the Big Apple? 對阿,我知道。我最近非常忙。我 在2個禮拜內將要到紐約出差。你 有什麼東西想要我從紐約帶回來給 你嗎? Dianne: That’s very nice of you. But don’t worry about bringing me back things. I know how business trips can be, with the tight schedule and jetlag and everything. 你人真的很好。但是別擔心要帶些什 麼東西回來給我。我知道出差時會怎 麼一回事,隨著緊湊的行程,時差和 許多事情。 Dianne: Just pick something up for me at the airport duty-free, a little souvenir or something would be nice. 只要幫我在機場的免稅商店挑一些 東西像小紀念品就很好了。 Joseph: Yeah sure, I can do that. 當然阿,我可以做到。 Dianne: Thank you, What’s the trip for ? 謝謝你,你這趟出差的目的是? Joseph: Well, for several things. Mainly it is to attend this convention and the company has assigned a colleague and me as representatives. I am really excited to go to this event. 有一些事,主要目的是參加公司指 派同事和我為代表人員去參加大型 會議。出差去參加這件事我很興 奮。 Joseph: It is supposed to be one of the most prestigious conventions in the industry. Many famous people are expected to be there and present their latest research. 那是企業上最有名望之一的會議。 很多知名人士會在那發表新的研 究。 Dianne: So how long are you going to stay in New York? 所以你將會在紐約待多久? Joseph: I am scheduled to leave for NYC on the 20th and come back on the 23rd. 我應該是20號前往紐約,23號回 來。 Dianne: I see. Have a nice trip. 我知道了。祝你有個好旅行。 Joseph: Thanks. 謝謝。 Joseph is at the airport. He is checking in at the airline desk Joseph在機場。他正在航空服務台辦理 登機手續。 Joseph: Hi, my name is Joseph Lee, I’m checking-in for flight 365 for Newark. 你好,我叫Joseph Lee,我正在 辦理365班機的手續飛往紐約克。 Reception: Good morning Mr. Lee, may I have your passport please? 早安李先生,我可以看一下你的 護照嗎? Joseph: Certainly, here it is. 當然,在這裡。 Reception: Thank you. Let’s have a look here. Mr. Lee, I have you on flight 365,business class. Here is your passport back. Any luggage, sir? 當然可以。這是您的護照給你。 先生,有任何行李嗎? Joseph: yes, just this one to check in and another carry-on. 是的,僅這一個要托運,另一個要 自己拿的。 Joseph puts the luggage on the weight scale. Joseph把行李放在秤重計上 Reception: That seems fine. Here is your boarding pass, with the baggage claim serial on the back. Your flight will depart from gate 16. We don’t have anything else for today, do we? 我確實很累。我們今天沒有其他事嗎? Joseph: NO, nothing. Let’s just head to the hotel so you can get some good rest. I want to go and do some sight-seeing, this is my first time in New York. 沒什麼事阿。讓我們先去飯店那妳 就能夠好好的休息。這是我第一次 來紐約,我想去參觀一下。 Peter: OK, you do that. 好,就那麼辦。 Joseph: How are we going to get to the hotel? 我們如何去飯店啊? Peter: The hotel made some arrangements to have a shuttle bus pick us up. You have the booking documents, don’t you? 飯店有安排接駁車來接送我們。 你有預約單不是嗎? Joseph: I think so. 我想有吧。 He goes through his suit case. 他翻找他的手提箱。 Joseph: Oh! I don’t have it. It’s not here. I remember putting it in my suitcase but it’s not here. 喔!我沒有耶。它不在這裡面。我 記得我把它放在手提箱裡,但它不 見了。 Peter: Don’t panic, I think I have a copy of it, Ah, here it is. 別怕,我想我有複製一份,嘿,在這 裡。 THE END
