Fly into Barcelona, Spain Travel by chartered vehicle to Montserrat Monastery for 1
night. Hiking here 1 day and exporing the history and nature of this region. Then travel
by chartered vehicle to Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido for 4 full days of
hiking. Transfer via chartered vehicles to Nacional Parque Picos de Europa traveling
along the northern coast of Spain, visiting cultural sights enroute. Spend 5 days hiking
Picos de Europ before transfering to Bilbao 1 night) and flight home.
Montserrat (Barcelona arrival night) 1 night rural 2* hotel - twin share rooms
Torla (Ordesa National park) 4 nights rural 4* hotel - twin share rooms
Sotres (Picos de Europa) 5 nights rural 2* hotel - twin, triple share pending availability
Bilbao (final night) 2-3* city center hotel - twin share
All breakfasts are included. In the rural 2* star hotels the local outfitter will provide
additional food such as porridge, bananas, etc. if necessary as these meals can be very
simple. All dinners except for 3 are provided. Picnic lunches on the hiking days are
provided by the local outfitter.
All long haul transfers are done by a private coach company with driver exclusively for
our use. The short daily transfers to/from trail head are an assortment of local vans and
taxis. AMC guides or participants are not expected to drive at anytime on this excursion.

The participants must be able to demonstrate that they can hike in the mountains. A
guideline for hiking abilities will be supplied with the prospectus so participants can rate
themselves. Leader/coleader will follow up with AMC local chapter contacts to see if
participants will be a good fit for this trip. Phone calls will be used if uncertain about

Our local outfitter is a specialist hiking and cultural guide from the region. He is
dedicated to upholding the ethics of the National Park act in Spain. The hotels
selected for the excursion are all centered in the Park regions and practice a
sustainabiliity that is unique to the sensitivities of the landscape.

Adventurebug employs a detailed emergency evacuation plan for all group events, tours
and expeditions . This program starts with ´on location´ first aid procedures followed by
´evacuation´ planning that involves accessing nearest medical support and finally, ´care
facility´ listing such as hospital or surgery nearest the locations of the tour / expedition.
This is all contained in one document that is carried by all leaders for easy access.

(central to the hike), and the nearest trauma center is Barcelona (1 hr)
ORDESA National Park (4 day hikes) If helicopter is not available evacuation must be
done on foot - access from trails to some forestry tracks (4x4 accesible) are available.
Paramedic ambulances can access MOST trail heads in this region.

If you cancel after being accepted for the trip, $100 is non-refundable. But if you

person takes your place. We will establish a waiting list. Should another person
replace you, you will be charged only the $200 cancellation fee. However, your
cancellation shall not raise the cost of the trip to any of the participants or trip leaders.
Thus if you cancel and are not replaced, you will forfeit the $200 plus the per capita
expenses already incurred and any other unpaid expenses for which the trip cannot
obtain a refund. You may forfeit the entire trip fee. Flight tickets once purchased
become your property and are generally non-refundable. We strongly recommend that
you purchase travel insurance. Information on a company recommended by the AMC
