This is a hut to hut trekking trip that commences in Oslo and proceeds to
Rondane National Park, the first national park in Norway. It was created to
protect the reindeer herd. This trip is planned in conjunction with the Norwegian
Trekking Association. The outline of the trip is as follows:
Day 1: Depart USA for Oslo
Day 2: Arrive Oslo. Free afternoon. Thon Hotel Spectrum.
Day 3. After breakfast, morning free to explore Oslo. In the afternoon proceed to
train to to Hjerkinn. Meeting point by the platform at Oslo Central Railway station
20 minutes before departure. Look for the platform on the monitor. Departure
with the train to Trondheim at 14.02 (arr. Oslo Airport Gardermoen at 14.29),
arrival at Hjerkinn station at 18.32. Accommodation in Hjerkinn Fjellstue (960 m).
Day 4 Hjerkinn - Grimsdalshytta
To Hageseter, heading south in open landscape, last part steep down to
Grimsdalshytta (1000 m), 5 hrs.
Day 5 Grimsdalshytta - Haverdalssæter
Heading south at the westside of the mountain Gravhøe (1267 masl) to
Haverdalssæter (1040 m), 3 hrs.

Along Haverdalsåe and down the narrow and rocky mountain pass, Dørålglupen,
to Øvre Dørålseter (1050 m), 5 hrs.
Day 7 Dørålseter - Rondvassbu
Up to Rondhalsen (1647 m) and along the lake Rondevatnet til Rondvassbu
(1167 m), 5 hrs.
Day 8 Rondvassbu - Bjørnhollia
In to the wide valley, Illmanndalen. Part of the trail is rocky. Through birch forest
to Bjørnhollia (914 m).
Day 9 Bjørnhollia
Extra night at Bjørnhollia. Day trip out of the lodge or a resting day.
Day 10 Return Oslo
Hike down to Straumbu, 2 hrs. Departure by bus at 13.00 to Ringebu, continue
by Nordfjordekspressen at 14.25, arrival Oslo Bus Terminal 18.15 (arr. Oslo
Airport Gardermoen 17.35). Group dinner in Oslo. Overnight at Thon Hotel
Spectrum .

All accomodations will be in full service huts. First and last nights will be in the
Thon Hotel Spectrum in Oslo as our departure to the huts is too close to the
arrival time of international flights and our return to Oslo on Day 10 is too late to
catch international flights.
All meals are included from arrival to departure except lunch before our train
departure on Day 3.
Participants will be responsible to get to the train on arrival at Oslo Airport.
Return to the airport for departure is also the responsibility of participants. All
other transportation is provided.

We will be stepping foot into the first national park of Norway. Norway
considers conservation to be paramount in their thinking. It is at the top of
the agenda of the Norwegian Trekking Association. We will be cognizant
of all that is important in this regard. Our guide will be educating us all
along the way of our days on the trail and in the huts.

All particpants will be screened. Each will be able to hike on varied terrain for
ups to 5 hours each day over several days with a pack up to approximately 20-25
pounds. All will be required to carry appropriate clothing and boots appropriate
to the weather which can be cold and rainy. This will be ascertained through our
screening measures.
