. It is a hiking trip, but with average altitudes peaking over 10000feet and more, we will
need to take it easy! The day hikes selected are not too strenuous or long nor do they
enter snow or ice covered high alpine zones. They are safe and easily accessible walks
for all levels. Our main walking area, Sorata is below 3000 meters and the lakeside
hikes at Titicaca are popular day walks between villages.
The reservattions are going to be a´group travel´ standard (not basic hostels or
backpacker inns). However, Bolivia is very much behind other parts of the world with
tourism infrastructure. Road networks are in poor condition, bus transport is ´rugged´
and slow.
Meals are simple yet nourishing. Most meals will be covered by trip cost and provided
through outfitter.

Experience hiking on trails with exposure and elevation gains of over 2000 feet per day
and at elevations over 10,000 feet. Participants will be screened with application process,
phone calls, contacting past trip leaders. The participants must be able to demonstrate
that they can hike for 4-5 hours per day. A guideline for hiking abilities will be supplied
with the prospectus so participants can rate themselves. Leader/coleader will follow up
with AMC local chapter contacts to see if participants will be a good fit for this trip.

This is a hiking and discovery trip, but we will aim to explore most of our
destinations on foot, leaving few stones unturned while at the same time, come
away adorned with knowledge of local history, culture, arts, gastronomy,
language and glimpses of every day life for Bolivianos.

Outfitter will be able to provide a superior trip experience in Bolivia due to his intimate
knowledge of the area as well as his fluency of the local language. It will allow for a
seamless and pleasurable experience for the participants. His familiarity with the
country will allow for an enhanced experience by being able to explore regions of the
region few travelers have the opportunity to visit. The outfitter and guide have
conducted numerous trips to the area and are well acquainted with the local customs,
flora, fauna, trails, transportation etc. Guides who are familiar with the region can
provide an increased level of comfort to the group. Bolivia is not as readily accessible to
tourism as other parts of the world (ie Yosemite Valley; Neustift, Austria; Switzerland;
Tuscany etc) and the use of a well organized outfitter will maximize participants trip
enjoyment. AMC leaders will augment guide's services by educating participants in
"Leave No Trace" policies, trail safety, history and culture of Bolivia. AMC leaders will
assist in leading hikes, assist in hike selection based on condition of trails, participant
abilities and weather conditions.

Currency in Bolivia is the Bolivian Boliviano (BOB).
On 12/11/2013 the exchange rate was $1 USD= 6.91 BOB
Due to potential for fluctuation in exchange rate we will use an 4%
contingency fee.
Outfitter will be paid in Euros via wire transfer because outfitter is
based in Europe and deals in Euros.
On 12/11/2013 the exchange rate for euro was $1 USD= 0.7253 Euro

*Cancellations can be transferred at no additional expense to another participant (on
waiting list), or who decides to take up the trip place internally.

If you cancel after being accepted for the trip, $50 is non-refundable. But if you cancel
after Aug 5th, 2014, minimally $200 is nonrefundable, if (and only if) anther person
takes your place. We will establish a waitinglist. Should another person replace you,
you will be charged only the $200 cancellation fee. However, your cancellation shall
not raise the cost of the trip to any of the participants or trip leaders. Thus if you cancel
and are not replaced, you will forfeit the $200 plus the per capita expenses already
incurred and any other unpaid expenses for which the trip cannot obtain a refund. We
strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. Information on a company
