To lead a major excursion you must have current CPR and WFA at the time of your trip (or AWFA for all backcountry
trips). If you do not have the required level of certification at the time you submit your proposal or it will expire before
the date of your trip, you will need to make arrangements to recertify in a timely manner.

Executive summary

description of the trip and the
activities planned.
Based at Maho Bay Campground, activities will include hiking, snorkeling, swimming
and trips to other parts of the island, cultural programs and special group activities such
as a get aquainted BBQ and game night. Activities will be structured so that all members
of the family can participate. There will be free time to enable people to schedule
personal options available through the campground.

We have a pre-trip meeting to go over getting there and what to expect
We will learn about the ways that Maho Bay camps has provided leadership to the
National Park in the areas of consevation, using recycling materials and protecting the
earth from a large number of travelers. On St John,we will learn about coral reefs and the
efforts made to protect and re-establish the natural formation. We will learn about local
flora and fauna while hiking through a tropical forest from a naturalist. We will meet
local people and learn local lore. We will hike, snokel, and create community.

Campground requires a non refundable $300 deposit when reservation is made in
February. The airline reqires a $100 per ticket usage guarantee which is paid in April
when reservations are made and returned in March 2012 for those who complete the trip
Campground is 60 days prior to arrival for cash refund (except $300) and after a credit
for future use. The airline deposit is nonfundable from day of reservation.
Deposit of $200 per individual or $400 per family at time of application - balance due
November15, 2011
$100 nonfundable from time of deposit . Balance is refundable depending on our ability
to fill the space on the trip and getting back any deposits we have made.
