The leaders have hiked in the nearby Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Visits are also planned to nearby State Parks including Coral Pink Sand Dunes and Kodachrome Basin. Daily hikes of 2-8 miles are planned to explore the rugged,unusual and beautiful canyon country and the diversity of the larger parks. Time will be allowed to "smell the roses" and to enjoy the wonders. Travel will be by leader-driven 12-passenger vans. Comfortable medium quality motels and inns: 4 nights at both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks and the last night in Las Vegas.. All meals will be included. Breakfast will be obtained at the motels. Lunches will be prepared from grocery supplies purchased for the group. Dinners will be at local restaurants. May 2-11, 2008 We routinely carry a first aid kit. Park Services and/or local emergency services and On-Call will be notified in the event of any emergency. Full service hospitals are in St. Georges, Kaneb, Cedar City and Panguitch Utah and of course in Las Vegas. The National Parks have emergency treatment facilities. Airline tickets will be arranged as people sign up. 30 days for the various motels. Airline tickets will be purchased in participants name so that they will become responsible. $300 initial deposit. Balance of trip fee due by March 1. Participants will pay for their flight tickets when the reservations are made. From the prospectus: “Cancellations should not raise the cost of the trip to others. If you cancel, the cost of the air ticket if it has been issued will not be refunded. Economy air tickets are generally non-refundable. Those canceling prior to March 1 will receive a refund of the other amounts paid less a non-refundable deposit and processing fee of $100. Cancellations after March 1 will result in a refund only to the extent that a suitable replacement can be found. Such cancellations will be charged a non-refundable deposit and processing fee of $100 plus any costs incurred in finding the replacement. If a replacement can not be found the entire trip fee is forfeited. AMC recommends that you get trip cancellation insurance and information about such insurance will be provided to you.
