You Need to Know Right Now!
1. When is it effective?
Primarily for new awards issued after December 26, 2014
2. What awards will be subject to the UG?
• All new awards
• Some agencies may also apply UG to funding increments
• National Science Foundation (NSF) is applying UG to all
funding issued after December 26, 2014

3. When will we know which incremental funding is

• Federal agencies expect to implement guidance mid-Dec.
• NSF has provided draft implementation.

5. Is the UG set in stone?
• No. Minor changes are expected.
• OMB is expected to issue technical corrections in Dec.
• Agency implementations will not likely be verbatim.
6. How is the UG going to effect me?
• Biggest initial impact: outgoing Subawards.
• Process will slow down while changes are implemented.
• New forms coming soon: Subaward Request Form,
Subrecipient Commitment Form
