 Right to assemble peacefully
 Right to petition government for redress of grievances
2nd Amendment
 Right to bear arms
3rd Amendment
 Prohibits peacetime lodging of soldiers w/out consent
4th Amendment
 Prohibits unreasonable searches of persons or property
 No warrants w/out probable cause
5th Amendment
 Indictment by grand jury
 Due process
 No compulsory self-incrimination
 No double jeopardy
 Eminent domain (the “takings clause”)
6th Amendment
 Right to speedy trial and impartial jury
 Right to counsel
 Right to cross-examine and solicit testimony
7th Amendment
 Right to jury trial in a civil matter involving over $20
8th Amendment
 No excessive bail or fines
 No cruel and unusual punishment
9th Amendment
 People have rights in addition to those specified in the Constitution
10th Amendment
 Certain powers are reserved for the states
