Minutes for June 15, 2010
Present: Susan Murphy, Sue Shogren, Jim White, Wendy Olson

Theme – Navigating Troubled Waters is one possibility. Please think about other possible themes.
Curriculum – Susan mentioned that Hawaii’s curriculum was pretty loose. Session presenters put it
together based on topics that were assigned to teams of two teachers per session. They developed a
common style in their PowerPoint presentations. The curriculum should be geared toward mid-level
management and new directors. Wendy will be getting information on the curriculum that has been
used in the past and share it with the committee. Here are some ideas that we brainstormed during our
meeting today. Keep thinking of any additional topics that we should consider and share them with the
committee.

Logo – We could use the old logo with the sea and mountains that Leonard is resurrecting for the
conference in Hawaii. If items with the logo are printed we could use them for MLI as well. Wendy will
share the logo when she gets the draft of it from Leonard Walker.
Timeline – A preliminary timeline has been distributed. Comments are welcome. Wendy read through
the first four months of the timeline to bring everyone up to the present.
Schedule – The schedule has also been distributed and like the timeline will be available on the WASFAA
website for the committee’s use. It looks pretty packed right now. If we do not need as much time as is
available we may give up the evening meeting.
Sharing of Data – We will use the WASFAA website to store documents that pertain to the committee.
Please make sure you can access the information without any trouble.
Future Meetings – We will use Go To Meeting for our future meetings. You can call in with your phone
or use Voice Internet Protocol (with microphone and speakers or headset).
Responsibilities – Here is a list of the responsibilities for MLI to be a success. If you are interested in
assisting in one of these areas in addition to your help as a faculty member, please let me know.
