Dear <Prospective Council Member>:
The University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension is the educational
outreach component of our Land Grant university, UNH. As such, it holds a threeway agreement in partnership with the 10 counties of New Hampshire, the state and
the United States Department of Agriculture.
UNH Cooperative Extension provides programming and educational services to
individuals and the communities of New Hampshire. As part of Cooperative
Extension’s organizational procedures, we seek and depend on the advice, support
and counsel of citizens in the community. These support groups are known as the
UNH Cooperative Extension County Advisory Councils. Advisory Councils
contribute a vital role in the success of the educational efforts of Cooperative
Extension.
Each County Extension Office works with an Advisory Council. There is also a State
Advisory Council, made up of delegates from each of the County Advisory Councils.
The County Advisory Council consists of 14 members: 12 members (citizens) from
this county, a representative from the County Commissioner’s office, and one
representative from the County Delegation.
Enclosed are some materials that give more detail about UNH Cooperative
Extension. Should you have any questions, please contact: <County Office
Information>.
Sincerely,
<County Extension Educator and/or
County Advisory Council Chair>
