摘要
A digital image captured by a digital camera module is scaled to
a smaller size, and separately horizontal direction filtered and
vertical direction filtered using one-dimensional spatial filters.
The horizontal direction filtered image and the vertical direction
filtered image are combined, wherein edge regions and corner
regions of the combined filtered image are created differently
than its middle region. The combined filtered image is then
thresholded selected pixels of the thresholded image are marked
as a blemish region. Other embodiments are also described and
claimed.
4
背景
A blemish defect in a camera may be manifested by one or more
blurred spots as seen when a resulting digital image produced by
the camera is displayed. The blurred spots are due to pixels of
the digital image that are different from surrounding ones, even
though the camera has taken a picture of a calibration-type flat
field target that is completely uniform. Blemish defects are
typically caused by scratches, staining, or foreign objects (such
as dust particles) and may be present on an optical surface
within the optical imaging path of the camera. Blemishes may
be contrasted with other defects such as vignettes.
The latter are usually minor defects that are present in almost
every manufactured specimen, and may be alleviated by
post-capture image processing that can correct for vignetting
and lens shading defects. Blemishes, on the other hand, may be
severe enough so as to result in a particular specimen being
flagged as a failed unit, during manufacture or production line
testing. Image processing-based blemish detection algorithms
5
are available that can be used to screen out units that have or
exhibit blemish defects. A goal of such algorithms is to flag only
those units that have blemish defects; efforts to improve the
accuracy of such algorithms are ongoing, so as to reduce the
likelihood of false positives.

Subject: Wireless remote control device for a portable media
device
Patents number: US 8177182 B1
Original patentee: Apple Inc
Filing Date:2011/1/07
Publication Date:2012/5/15
13
摘要
A wireless remote control device for a portable media device
can include a touch-sensitive faceplate and a base section
coupled to the faceplate such that the faceplate is rotatable
relative to the base section. The base section can house
electronic circuitry including a wireless transmitter that
transmits signals to portable media device in response to a user
touching the faceplate. Clamping feet can be attached to the
base section, e.g., using hinges so that the wireless remote
control device can be mountable on a vehicle steering wheel.
The hinges can be movable in a lateral direction to vary the
pitch between the clamping feet to accommodate various
thicknesses of steering wheels. The clamping feet can be
movable in an arcuate motion in order to clamp to or unclamp
from the steering wheel.
14
背景
The present disclosure relates in general to wireless user
interface devices and in particular to a wireless remote control
device.
Portable media devices have become ubiquitous. Several types
of portable media devices are manufactured by various
manufacturers. For example, Apple Inc. manufactures the iPod®,
iPhone®, and iPad® series of portable media devices.
With the growing popularity of portable media devices, various
accessories are also being sold that interface with these portable
media devices to provide addition functionality or convenience
to a user for operating the portable media devices. One of the
popular accessories currently being offered is an in-vehicle
entertainment system that is configured to interface with a
portable media device and allow the user/driver to control the
portable media device using the controls of the in-vehicle
entertainment system.
15
Some in-vehicle entertainment systems do not include the
control functionality but rather only output information provided
by the portable media player. In such in-vehicle entertainment
systems, the user has to control the portable media player using
the controls on the portable media player itself.
In both types of in-vehicle entertainment systems discussed
above, the user (driver) has to take his eyes off the road in order
to manipulate either the in-vehicle entertainment system
controls or the controls on the portable media player. Such
distraction can be dangerous and can lead to accidents.

Subject: Swipe gestures for touch screen keyboards
Patents number: US 8542206 B2
Original patentee: Apple Inc.
Filing Date:2011/9/23
Publication Date:2013/9/24
23
摘要
Systems, methods, and devices for interpreting manual swipe
gestures as input in connection with touch-sensitive user
interfaces that include virtual keyboards are disclosed herein.
These allow for a user entering text using the virtual keyboard to
perform certain functions using swipes across the key area
rather than tapping particular keys. For example, leftward,
rightward, upward, and downward swipes can be assigned to
inserting a space, backspacing, shifting (as for typing capital
letters), and inserting a carriage return and/or new line. Various
other mappings are also described. The described techniques can
be used in conjunction with a variety of devices, including
handheld devices that include touch-screen interfaces, such as
desktop computers, tablet computers, notebook computers,
handheld computers, personal digital assistants, media players,
mobile telephones, and combinations thereof.
24
背景
The present invention relates generally to input systems,
methods, and devices, and more particularly, to systems,
methods, and devices for interpreting manual swipe gestures
as input in connection with touch-screen keyboards.
There currently exist various types of input devices for
performing operations in electronic devices. The operations, for
example, may correspond to moving a cursor and making
selections on a display screen. The operations may also include
paging, scrolling, panning, 'zooming, etc. The input devices may
include, for example, buttons, switches, keyboards, mice,
trackballs, pointing sticks, joy sticks, touch surfaces (including
touch pads and touch screens, etc.), and other types of input
devices.
Various types of touch surfaces and touch screens are described
in the related applications cross-referenced above. Touch screens
may include a display, a touch panel, a controller, and a software
driver. The touch panel may include a substantially transparent
25
panel that incorporates touch-sensing circuitry. The touch panel
can be positioned in front of a display screen or constructed
integrally with a display screen so that the touch sensitive
surface corresponds to all or a portion of the viewable area of
the display screen. The touch panel can detect touch events and
send corresponding signals to the controller. The controller can
process these signals and send the data to the computer system.
The software driver can translate the touch events into computer
events recognizable by the computer system. Other variations of
this basic arrangement are also possible.
The computer system can comprise a variety of different device
types, such as a pocket computer, handheld computer, or
wearable computer (such as on the wrist or arm, or attached to
clothing, etc.). The host device may also comprise devices such
as personal digital• assistants (PDAs), portable media players
(such as audio players, video players, multimedia players, etc.),
game consoles, smart phones, telephones or other
communications devices, navigation devices, exercise monitors
26
or other personal training devices, or other devices or
combination of devices.
In some embodiments, touch screens can include a plurality of
sensing elements. Each sensing element in an array of sensing
elements (e.g., a touch surface) can generate an output signal
indicative of the electric field disturbance (for capacitance
sensors), force (for pressure sensors), or optical coupling (for
optical sensors) at a position on the touch surface corresponding
to the sensor element. The array of pixel values can be
considered as a touch, force, or proximity image. Generally,
each of the sensing elements can work independently of the
other sensing elements so as to produce substantially
simultaneously occurring signals representative of different
points on the touch screen 120 at a particular time.
