It is equally a gathering each county. Therefore, Russian culture and history was just only be introduced a few to Taiwanese students. Due to our inadequate education of foreign histories, students might lose their interests in achievement of literature, art, music, religion, architecture, and modern technology which are world-famous and learning cultures and languages of other countries. Due to the lack of learning envied by most. In Taiwan, we have lack sources to learn about Russian culture. Also, our country doesn't provide many opportunities for people who want to learn Russian culture or language. Although there are some universities opportunities of Russia, the Russian teaching materials are surely insufficient. There are only few Russian picture story books in Taiwan. Although we have various English picture books, we still lack of Russian picture books. Nowadays, more and more teachers in provide Russian courses, we only have three universities that have the Department of Russian Language. They are National Cheng Chi University, TamKang University, and Chinese Culture University. However, the students’ desire of learning Russian language is not too high. This might because we do not school considered picture books as one of their essential teaching materials. Picture books offer a natural and fun learning environment for educators in today's educational setting. Picture books are beneficial for children at any age because of the colorful pictures and the interesting contents.When children read books, they can find out how know much about Russian this country and we would think that we would never visit there. The reason why people know little about Russia might because Taiwan's education. Students in Taiwan started to learn about foreign history since junior high school. However, it only contains very brief history about language works. Besides, reading books lead children understand the print message and the meaning. (Goodman ,1997) According to Russell, while reading books, children not only read fantastic stories but also more realistic stories to develop their relationship with others and to satisfy Background 2 their curiously about people in the real emphasis on words but ignore pictures world. Russian picture books offer opportunities of rich verbal or nonverbal hints for students to enhance language abilities. This study is aimed to explore teachers’ viewpoint of the functions of Russian picture books and their use of picture books in teaching. The main conveying messages in the picture books (Anderson, Kauffman & Short, 1998). The purpose of this study is to provide alternative approaches to help children develop their language learning. Moreover, book discussion can be triggered into a deeper understanding of the story in class and brainstorming. Also, children can arouse their invisible and dreamful world in their mind. In the reason that motivated the researcher conducts the study is due to the experience of learning Russian and Russian picture book, story contents and the features of architectures may introduce children what Russian look interests in Russian culture. In present, the teaching materials and learning opportunities of Russian is extremely limited in Taiwan, especially combined with picture books. The Russian picture book is mainly designed for teachers for storytelling to not only enhance like. students’ listening abilities but also create more interaction with them. Additionally, there are few stories with three foreign languages: Chinese, English and Russian. It is no doubt that Russian picture books not only offer teachers multiple ways in teaching but also give children more understanding of Russian culture and basic recognition people know more about Russian cultures; therefore, in our book, we contains traditional Russian architecture, costumes, and other representative products. Also, we refer some drawing styles from some traditional Russian story books. Not only the style of objects such as the way they draw human and animals, but also the style of through viewing colorful pictures and interesting contents as comprehension aids. At the same time, they can make connection between what they hear and read and students’ language learning interests, creativity, imagination and cognition as well as can be aroused. Nowadays, most people put too much colors. Russian books like to contain abundant colorful colors in one item. For example, we can see over five to ten various colors in their temples. Also, in their traditional clothes, headscarves, they contain bright and colorful colors. Moreover, geometric figure is one of the most important elements in Motivation and Purpose Conclusion In order to create a new and unique picture book, we adapted classic traditional story into a two-language-picture book. We want 3 Russian style as well. Geometric figures languages to describe the story, English usually appear on their daily supplies such as the design of tables and the patterns of table clothes.
