Key factors for the acceptance of Green IT of IT professionals 作者:張明德 南台科技大學 資訊傳播系研究生 In the twenty-first century, technologies have benefited us in many aspects, but they also consume a lot of precious resources and damage our living environment. For many companies protecting our living environment and reducing the waste of resources have become an important issue. Currently, many environmental protection methods have been proposed. Among them, Green IT is one of the most important methods. The core concept of Green IT includes using low-energy consuming products and effectively managing IT infrastructure. If these two concepts can be applied in companies, the companies will be able to reduce the cost of energy and improve their image. However, not many companies have employed Green IT today. Thus, we aim to explore the key factors influencing the acceptance of Green IT. More specifically, we explore the antecedents of the acceptance of Green IT of IT professionals. Based on Venkatesh’s et al. (2003) Unified Theory of Acceptance & Use of Technology (UTAUT) and environment related literatures, we propose an integrated model for examining the factors that influence Green IT acceptance of IT professionals. The model consists of the constructs of cost benefit expectancy, environmental benefit expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, environmental responsibility and environmental protection knowledge. It is expected that the result of this study could provide us a more comprehensive understanding regarding why IT professionals accept Green IT. The understanding is useful for the promotion of Green IT. Keyword: Green IT, Unified Theory of Acceptance & Use of Technology (UTAUT), Environmental Responsibility, Environmental Protection Knowledge
