Employees indicate that they understand their role
and responsibilities and
systems are in place locally to respond to any
individual concerns.

Make sure your staff have a clearly defined role,
eg through a personal work plan which enables
them to understand exactly what their roles and
responsibilities are.

• Encourage your staff to talk to you at an early
stage if they are not clear about priorities or the

clarity regarding their work objectives and key
accountabilities, their co-workers’ expectations of
them and the overall scope and responsibilities of
their job.
