in the 21st century, except for HIV, TB, malaria, dengue--. But, SARS, Ebola,
Influenza outbreak cause high mortality and social social panic.

Clinical presentations of Enteroviruses
1. Infection of EV can cause hand-footand-mouth disease (HFMD), aseptic
meningitis, myocarditis, hepatitis,
acute flaccid paralysis (AFP),
brainstem encephalitis, and
pulmonary edema.
2. EV71 is uniquely associated with
brainstem encephalitis and
pulmonary edema.
