MEMO TO: McNeal Blackmon, President FROM: Dana Brothers, VP—Marketing DATE: July 1 SUBJECT: Teacher Day Promotion Results The Teacher Day Promotion was a great success with our expected attendance exceeding our plan by 300 people. Although attendance was higher than expected, actual promotion costs were still very close to our original budget number. The purchasing staff was able to negotiate lower prices on some food and promotional giveaways by making bulk purchases. The marketing team negotiated extremely favorable contracts with the entertainment providers; and, the human resources staff was able to adjust staff schedules for the week to keep overtime hours required to staff this event to a minimum. The budget vs. actual numbers is outlined below.
