RV6-National Geographic Cover Story Report Guidelines
Fall Quarter 2014

The next few Mondays we will report on what we read over the weekend in the National
Geographic magazines we have. Please type your report, and you need to include the following
information to get full credit (10 points):





Your Name
Title of the article you read and the author’s name (cover story)
Summary of the article (one paragraph: 5-7 sentences)
Response to the article (one paragraph)
o Choose the part or issue that interests you most in this article, think about that
critically, and write a paragraph responding to it. Be specific and go as deep as
you can. Questions you may choose to answer in your response:
 How does this issue remind you of your own life? Explain.
 How does this issue relate to your culture/happen in your culture? Explain.
 What do you think the future will look like in regard to this issue (think
your country, the US, and across the world)?
 Do you agree or disagree with the way this is issue being handled?
Explain.
List three new vocabulary words you learned from the article, the sentence where you
found them, and their definitions.
