COURSE
DESCRIPTION
CWE 102 offers an opportunity to observe the practical side of the workplace. Accounting and
Bookkeeping students will shadow professionals in their field of interest, learn to conduct
informational interviews and assess career choices. Through reading and observation, students
will discuss and record issues of culture, structure, communication and behavior dynamics in the
workplace.

Be able to research organizations and conduct informational interviews.
Increase understanding of the scope of work of various positions.
Describe the structure and culture of the Job Shadow sites’ organization.

Demonstrate appropriateness for work (including behavior, dress, relationships)
Summarize and reflect on job shadow experience and assess how their current program
supports longer term educational and/or career goals.
