Unfinished Business – OSA 15-095 WHEREAS, current parking policy dictates that all vehicles must pull into a parking spot and may not back in or pull through; and WHERAS, it is more difficult for vehicles with longer wheelbases to pull into a parking spot; and THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED: that OSA supports a change in parking policy to allow those who utilize university parking lots to be able to back into parking spots. THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED That upon passage of this resolution, a copy of this resolution shall be sent to the following individuals: Dr. Andrew Leavitt, UW Oshkosh Chancellor; Dr. Petra Roter, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs; and Benjamin Richardson, Parking and Transportation Services Manager Sponsored by: Travis Eickstedt, College Republicans Dispense Motion to move to floor YAL, 2nd by College Republicans Discussion: Titan Catholics: Heating and Newman center, extended cab truck. Expeditions, and larger vehicles backing in is somewhat easier as turning to back in it is easier to do, did not see a problem either way. Psychology club vehicle problem but safety issue but cannot always see people walking behind your car, so do not see why it would be a problem. Circle K.: seeing permits or how will you pay for permit and last meeting talked to Ben Richardson and will won’t see the back window if you are driving around one backed in the standard for the driver back side any vehicle they will have to park and get out, parking as permit as not being a problem but the vehicle will sit higher than the average vehicle. Still safety concerns when backing in the middle of the day or backing out also up to the pedestrian it has to be mutual hours. I see it adding additional time. YAL: do not see a real issue as of now they do have to get out of the truck. Pagan Right now if they are backed in they have to back in? Circle K – Wildlife Conversation Club – warnings and tickets when I talked to Ben the first time a warning and then after that tickets. TAB: some are a little hectic and some pulled into the same spot and I know I park over there and have to fit for a spot for pulling through how many accidents happen at Wal-Mart or Pick N Save? Back in but not opportunity to pull through maybe on a weekend but not during the week. Vote, passed placard vote, 5 oppositions, 2 abstentions, (02/29/2016) XI. XII.
