Patrick Wilkinson, Director Polk Library – undergrads, faculty, 1000 responses back from students, majority undergrads. Research 2004, 2008, and 2014 in spring, perception of library has increased, library as a place live call surveys, Polk 101 one of the main things we have done renovation in front of circulation desk, quite study areas have all come through, like space that has been renovated but do not like space that is not renovated, upgrade furniture carpet equipment on second and third floor, people feel frustrated with. With new Chancellor higher may be moved up on the renovation ladder important to students without any major quite study space and improve the space, hours a 106 hours a week during fall and spring semester want more hours if a serious interest not more hours but maybe not the right hours, survey with collaboration of student government in 2008 resources are stretched to be open the hours that we are. Algoma entrance and that come up in the survey also not as simple, central administration. STAND: students are interested in another entrance to the library don’t feel comfortable or safe, increase use of the library as far as student use goes. Is there a budget in place for renovations? Answer: budget not to cost out complete renovation plan renovated and improved not expansion but it would be significant money. Appreciate the extra hours during finals week. Dedicated to continuing extending hours, some extra money from Provost Office, security is on their minds with the three floors open, CSO students to be in the building during certain times during all night study. Services are rated highly in the comment 26 of those finding people to help us, some comments: We don’t know who to ask, difficult to identify, and not a courteous exchange, name tags will be worn by Polk library staff and student staff. c.
