 Chris
 Kuris
Women’s Lacrosse Club
 Sarah: why do you need numbers
o On pinnies so when we compete we have numbers
o Pinneys would stay with the team each year



TAB





Nathan: lacrosse goals are they shared
o We have our own
Jim: If I remember right they are different sizes
o Not sure I think they are relatively the same
Calvin: total capital it has an 8 what does that mean
o Nathan: the formula didn’t work properly. We will double check on that.
Megan: 2000 for prizes and awards
o Banquet at the end of the year. Publicly recognizes the work students do.
Awards will be monetary. Incentive for students to come back and do even
better next year
Joe: example of awards
o Outstanding performer. People back stage don’t get paid but it is a lot of
work
What do you spend 2000 on
o cash
Megan: Kennedy trip number of people
o Students are nominated. It is a scholarship audition process. Number of
students changes.
o Doesn’t cover faculty only students
o Average bring 15-16 people to regional festival
o Includes large schools and grad schools.
Sarah: to clarify that is a competition
o If we get invited. If they see an outstanding performance they get invited




o Specific students are selected every year
o Production and student category
o If production isn’t selected then they don’t perform
o You present your work and get feed back
o Some have gotten invites for graduate school from that
How much does student pay
o Covered. faculty is paid for from different funds
Benefits brought back to campus
o Somewhere in the webpage
o Get newspaper coverage from it
o Puts UWO in public spotlight
Student assistance: on avg how much does
o stage manager works
 3 hrs a night for rehearsal 5 nights a week. Does not include
production meetings (20 hrs) At busiest working about 20 hours a
week.
 One person for each production
 Runs auditions; make copies of audition forms, and applications,
make sure that the people running auditions know what they are
doing. Starts before the production begins
 They are the middle point of everyone involved with that
production
 Hard to definitively define those hours
o Box office manager
 Schedules box office workers
 Make sure box office is up to date
 Purchased tickets online program needs to be ran by the box office
manager
 Count money in accordance to UWO regulations
 In a month at least 50 hours
o Box office assistance
 30 hours a month
o scene shop foreperson
 depends on production
 40 hours a week if it’s a big production
Jim: Sarah you are nickel and diming them. You can’t do that.
Sarah: I think it is important to understand where all the money is going. They are
asking for a little under half of their budget to go to student assistance. In the past
there have been many discussions about funding this and I think it is beneficial for
everyone including TAB that we understand the amount of work these students
do.
o Refer to recording for the exact wording
I would imagine these positions offer some incentive for applications after
graduation. Would people work for a smaller stipend because of their incentive
for resume additions
o A smaller stipend reduces the quality of work
o People don’t show up
o Professionalism is important
o Some workers don’t have a theater major or minor. They are working an
on campus job.
o Hours are inconsistent so it is hard to get another job
 Do they apply for these positions
o Faculty chooses them
(Kurtis enters)
 Group: we are guessing for the following year
 Sarah: printing and duplicating state are posters part of it?
o Posters are not included
o Brochures are included
Advanced Titan
 No questions
PanHellenic
 Kurtis: AFLV conference how many are on exec board
o Seven
 Sarah: How are you going to make sure these events are marketed to more than
greeks
o Welcome back bash. We want to put on something good for campus
o We are planning to hide whole greek factor and hide the stigma that comes
with greeks
o
 Kurtis: for conference how is that brought back to campus community
o Exec board puts on two workshops for their members. Covers better
leadership, networking post college, budgeting.
Chris leaves
CRU
 Sarah: ad and notice, you have 550 for cups where does the rest go
o Flyers and posters for maze
 That is not currently covered in your printing and duplicating
o No that is printing cards for meetings etc.
o Meet every Thursday
Asian Student Association
 Calvin: MAASU conf why 5 exec members and 5 emerging leaders why did you
select that number
o Educational and expands their knowledge and teaches them how to
combat discrimination
 Thought process with five
o Lower the cost we used to have ten members going.
 Joe: how do the people that go bring the knowelegde back to the comm
o Share experience with the club because they can’t bring everyone with
o Helps with leadership role. By bringing more members they are learning
the importance of leadership roles
 Avg number at meetings
o Usually 30 members

Calvin: what is a more definitive way you bring knowledge back to campus?
Does this go towards the things you hold on campus
o Teaches how to approach students
o Asian heritage month there are smaller orgs being incoroporated and
having all of the members collaborate and work on campus
 Sarah: beneficial for your members to attend both conf. why couldn’t you just do
one
o UW madison gives a chance for other members to go and more can go and
be informed
o Generally around 20-30 attend it varies from year to year
 Do the 10 that go to MASSU go to UW mad to?
o Exec board but then other members go
 Calvin: why did you pick lambeau field volunteer project
o Volunteer opportunity.
o Learn there is more than just this university we can do things outside
campus
 Is this volunteer opportunity open to all students
o Open to everyone not just the Asian students
o We stress that at our meetings.
 Calvin: but those are just your members
o We also have non-members attend and we stress it to others too.
Chess Club
 Calvin: at tournaments do you operate as a team or as individual members. Do
you play as UWO club
o Depends on the tournament. Some are teams and others are a one person
tourney your placement de[ends on your level but still be reppping UWO
 Audience for lectures
o Any one on campus but also chess clubs in the UW system
o Possibly charge them and then be able to refund some of the money we get
 Sarah: polo shirts are they required to compete in or just ad purposes
o Would be nice for ad
o Haven’t decided if they would be required
 Would they be kept with team
o No because of individual sizes
Nathan leaves
Sisterhood
 Sarah: can you talk more about the first item on travel. I’m unclear whwrer the
198 is going
o Used for fleet vechicles to pick up guests from airport, to the boys and
girls club
o Way for students to get to the programs they weant to be involved with off
campus
o Used to go and get supplies
 Sarah: I thought there was a specific mileage to check out fleet
o No I don’t think so
o

QWould it be better for them to rent a car and reimburse them
o Not always because they are unfamiliar with the area
 Speaker from Puerto rico why from that far away
o UWO grad, first African American homecoming queen
o RTF major and she is a great speaker
o Students request her to come back and speak a lot
 Collaborations with other groups, have you done that in past
o No, they have asked us in the past to collaborate but we didn’t have
money. They have events they have in mind
 What is the diff btw those collaboration and the misc costs
o We are trying to be more inclusive in our discussions and speakers
because it impacts all the women on campus
French Club
 Calvin: audiovisual, movies would that be for meetings or for campus
o Meetings are open to all UWO students
o Flyers for movie night, if they wanted to attend they could
o A student can attend any meeting they don’t need to attend all the
meetings
