Investigation: Finding fractions of numbers
Here are two rectangles; one is made up of
24 squares, the other of 15.
Cut around the
rectangles then fold them and/or draw lines on them to find as many fractions of each
number as you can.
Consider these questions:
How many different fractions of each number did you find?
Was it easier to find fractions of 24 or 15? Can you explain your answer?
Describe what you did to find each fraction?
